The making of a mud room/laundry room

Updated: Sep 25, 2020

When we bought the house the washer and dryer were in the guest bathroom on the first floor, which I did not like at all. It just seemed weird to have a washer/dryer in the half bath. I knew I had to move it and create a laundry room. The mud room was right next to the bathroom so I decided to make the mud room my new laundry room.

This is the front of the mud room that lead to the front of the house Which is the second front entry to the house. The first thing I did was to paint the wall with fresh lighter color and hubby change the recessed light and took out the hardwood floor.

We replaced the hardwood floor for with tiles that we found for a really good price at Lowes. I was so excited to see these tiles getting installed. I knew it’s was going to look beautiful and if you haven't noticed, gray is one of my favorite colors for designing.

Hubby did a built-in for the washer & dryer and a space for our dog. This is one of my favorite places in the house because this room changed completely. To have an idea in my head and see it come to life was amazing.

We added cabinets for extra storage space and a floating shelf on the opposite wall.

This room almost makes me enjoy doing laundry.
